The Neptune Association met on Plymouth Hoe at 1100 hrs in a joint Remembrance service with the Gloucester Association. HMS Gloucester was sunk off Crete in May 1941. Over 100 people attended.The Padre from HMS Drake conducted the service which ended with the playing of the Reveille and the Last Post. Afterwards, a buffet lunch was held at the Fleet Club and was attended by members of both associations. John McGregor gave an account of the Neptune Association's recent commemorative visit to Malta and Tripoli which culminated in a sea trip to the site where we believe Neptune to lie. Adrian Fewins talked about the next edition of 'Minefield', his compilation of photographs of the men who sailed on Neptune, and their lives as recounted by anecdotes and memories sent by their relatives. This new edition will be available in November 2007.
