Service of Remembrance, Alrewas - 19 December 2009Service of Remembrance, Alrewas - 19 December 2009
The Service of Remembrance to honour those who lost their lives whilst serving in HMS Neptune and HMS Kandahar on December 19th 1941, was held on the 68th anniversary of the sinking of the two ships. Fifteen relatives and friends were able to be present on this poignant occasion. It was a very cold sunny day and the frosty ground made it possible to hold a service at the monument without getting muddy feet. The service was written by Gerry Wright and conducted by Nicolas Wright.
